Vision for Change

Vision for Change

My mission was simple: let's empower everyday people to co-create their city. Think of it as a digital town square, where you don't just talk about that annoying pothole—you get to vote on fixing it. From parks to public transit, an application that makes city planning a group project. Your voice, your city.

I started with three high level goals:

  1. Swipe, Plan, Build: Make city planning accessible and interactive for all.

  2. Voice to Vote: Turn resident complaints into actionable community decisions.

  3. Innovate Locally: Use the app as a launchpad for civic creativity.

Assessing Community Needs

Assessing Community Needs

I mapped the ecosystem of urban living to identify crucial user needs. A six-layer pyramid emerged, ranking concerns from basic necessities to the pinnacle of civic participation. This exercise revealed the app's potential to serve not just pressing needs but aspirational ones as well.

Identifying Target Audience

Identifying Target Audience

By interviewing more than ten city natives, I aimed to serve a cross-section of urban life, focusing on three key demographics: young professionals, families, and seniors. By doing so, I identified overlapping and unique needs that informed the app’s core features.

Contextual Challenges in Society

Contextual Challenges in Society

Deep dives into urban challenges revealed a web of interconnected societal issues. These challenges, while distinct, feed into one another, amplifying their individual impacts. By mapping these out, I could anchor my solution to real-world intricacies.
